From Season 11 to go after leaving Colton Dixon?

You know, all those things last Friday about how Jessica Sanchez's save helped Colton Dixon?

Forget I ever said.

In a sense, it's nice to know that after 11 seasons, American Idol is still able to throw us in the loop. Even if you do not like them, do not think I would win, Jessica Sanchez and Colton Dixon looked like they were on a stable path to the top five at least. As both the Elise Testone and Hollie Cavanagh, who have seven bottom-three trips between them, managed to get more votes for the next weeks, than singers who have never been in danger is a mystery.
I certainly can not come up with a theory that explains the last two weeks.

You could say that Thursday's development makes Phillip Phillips prohibitive front-runner, and maybe so. At this point, although the conventional wisdom went out the window. The top six consisted of four girls and only two guys, sure looks like anyone's game.

Last week, the judges had to withdraw from the edge of Jessica, I thought, low total vote had something to do with it. After all, the audience for this show Top Seven productivity fell 25% from the previous season. In addition, Ryan Seacrest did not give in total the first week of the semi-finals, when he combined two nights worth voting for 25 players. Any pollster will tell you that the low turnout can wildly skew the results of elections. But this Wednesday brought a season high 53 million votes - a 3.2 on the viewer's votes - and other apparent favorite came up short.

Some speculate that Colton lost the support of his hardcore fans of the Christian, when he decided to sing a song Lady Gaga. But it seems awfully petty, and does not take into account what happened to Jessica. As far as Jimmy Iovine opined at the exhibition on Thursday, allowing her to sing a song for older women to keep it from its natural connection with the audience.

Even the conspiracy theories offer a rare comfort. If you take your stupid theory about the rigging manufacturers save a boost last week, Jessica voters or jack up the ratings of artificial drama - and for the record, I do not know - to let Colton go this week does not make a lick sense. On the other hand, if you buy a demonic conspiracy to devote Colton, you are left with having to explain what happened to Jessica. I can not imagine the machinations of the plot that finds a way to show benefit from pretending that two of the greatest singers of the following social-media somehow got the lowest number of votes in the upcoming weeks.

Finally, despite WGWG (White Guy With Guitar) remains on Idol this season, Colton Dixon ouster should put the myth of TGT (SMS Teen Girl) to rest. If you were king makers TGTs that some people consider them to be, Colton can not win, but at least he finished higher than the Elise, it's better than seventh. He is Tim urban or Sanjaya Malakar. Sure, TGTs are a force to be reckoned with, but for show, where the average audience in her late 40s, they are not the only game in town. To win, plus you need to have someone else, whether it VFTWs (vote for Worsters), Pics (Connected Christians) or TSGWTOTHs (Tech-Savvy Grandmas With time on his hands).

So where do we go from here? At the moment it looks like the path to the season 11 wins leads the Phillip Phillips, only remaining player to never have to worry about the bottom third. People managed to win Idol, If you are in the bottom third, but not often and not recently. Ruben Studdard was there once in 2002, and Fantasia sent me there twice in 2003. History therefore suggests that the Elise and Hollie do not have the juice to go the distance and that Jessica, Joshua and Skylar Laine has their work cut out for them.
