Nas: The Tupac Hologram Was 'Genius'

Hologram Tupac Shakur, who appeared along with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg during the headlining set at Coachella on Sunday evening, paragraph 15 April) evoked mixed reactions, but Nas - who discusses her relationship with Tupac on his "Behind the Music" VH1 special, which its premiere on Wednesday evening, paragraph 18 April, nine p.m. EST) - says he was impressed by the visual feat.

"Tupac has become almost Elvis, where people still think that he was alive, so the hologram thing I thought was genius, Dr. Dre and Snoop," a veteran MC tells Billboard.com. "It just shows how awesome Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg are, and how hard you ride for their West Coast Tupac's brother, in the name of hip-hop music. I thought it was great to look at hip-hop as a whole - is there a hip-hop together and it was revolutionary in scale efficiency "..
Nas has not always been close with Tupac Shakur: New York rapper once engaged in a war of words with native Oakland, and his "Behind The Music" special, Nas describes how and Tupac almost came to blows during the awards show after-party in Bryant Park in New York. The couple later to make amends, and we had a meeting with Tupac in Las Vegas over the weekend that he died in September 1996.
"I am honored to have been part of his life, though at one point was not all good," Nas says of Tupac, who was killed in the 25 years of age. "It's just a beautiful thing, in the chapter 'Behind the Music" connects us to one of the moments between me and Pac, that was not the best time, but it's still a true story about seeing us right before he passed away. In the beginning I did not know whether it was beef or not, but it seemed that there had to be beef. Just as I could and Pac died in Bryant Park at night. It was so bad. It was not his time, and it was not my time. But how serious was the Bryant Park and you have a piece that the "Behind The Music".

During Sunday's Coachella performance, re-creating interactions with Tupac and Snoop Dogg Coachella crowd, and performed two songs, "Hail Mary" and "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" before falling apart in a million fragments of light. The show was the first of its kind in the general introduction of hip-hop show, and we believe that Tupac hologram is just the beginning.

"This is a historic thing that they did, but I think that technology will get better, and we find new ways to do it," he says. "I think someone had to do it first, and who better than Dre hologram Tupac do? Hip-hop concerts are getting bigger and bigger day by day, and I think as times happens, it can be done in a way where everyone is happy -. where it is not only scary, where you do not know how you feel about him the first time to do it, is the first time, so we have the experience of some people do not like., some are going to be creeped by it, but all these reactions are great. "

For us, the hologram was a reminder of the cultural significance of the fallen rapper. And who better than a West Coast legend Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg - who are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Dr. Dre "The Chronic" later this year - have announced that a message? "It makes sense that Dre and Snoop would bring it - are the kings of hip-hop industry, and they prove time and time again," says Nas. "What's it all about. We love Tupac, Tupac loved the world, and he is one of the greatest hip-hop artists who ever lived. Deserves, so that will be celebrated and remembered in this way."
