Rapper Coolio was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on a traffic ticket for almost two years.
Coolio, 48, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., was a passenger in official vehicles stopped at 2:20 am several blocks east of the Strip in Las Vegas, said Officer Laura Meltzer.
No one else in the car were arrested.
It was not immediately clear if Ivey had an attorney. His manager, Susan Haber, said he had not heard about the incident and had no comment.
Ivey in the issuance of a warrant accusing him of not appearing in an illegal stop and driving without a license issued subpoena June 2010.
He was released the same day. A court date was not immediately known.
Coolio is a producer musician, actor and recording best known for the song "Gangsta Paradise."
