Slash, Billy Corgan take a trip down "Sunset Strip"

In Hans Fjellestad "Sunset Strip", a documentary, many of its talking heads declare a mile and a half stretch of Sunset Boulevard died in 2005 after Tower Records closed. Clive Davis and Lou Adler praise the store closing, Ozzy Osbourne rides the yellow signs Tower "burned into your psyche" and Slash steps into a time of acceptance that says "things change in this city."

Fjellestad says it is not unusual to write an obituary for the strip. "Looking back through the Los Angeles Times and the Herald Examiner seems that every year 10 or 12 someone is saying he's dead," he says.
