Etta James Remembered By Wonder, Aguilera at Memorial Service


Etta James was remembered Saturday service attended by hundreds of friends, family and fans, as the woman who triumph against all odds to break cultural barriers and musical style, which was unfailingly honest.

Reverend Al Sharpton praised James for transmitting speech, describing the dramatic increase in poverty and pain to become a woman who has experienced the anthem music for weddings and commercial.

Perhaps the most famous, President Barack Obama and first lady dance dedication ball version of song sung by Beyonce. Sharpton on Saturday opened his speech by reading a statement by the President.

"Etta remembered for his legendary voice and his contribution to musical culture in our country," Obama said the statement.


Grammy-winning singer died Jan. 20 after battling leukemia and other diseases such as dementia. She had retired from public life in recent years, but Saturday was his legacy on the screen, but the mourners of all ages and races together in the sanctuary of the church in Gardena, south of downtown Los Angeles.

Among the stars performing tributes to Stevie Wonder and James were Christina Aguilera, who said that the meeting is to include "At Last" at every concert, which takes place in a tribute to his musical inspiration.

James said, fame and influence would have been unthinkable for a woman with a background of James - grow up in broken homes, separation, and sometimes fighting their own demons.

"The genius of Etta James returned to the script," Sharpton said, referring to his struggle with addiction, which eventually won.

"She waited until it turned to work," he said, adding that the history gave him a long way from tragedy to triumph.

"You Etta brawl," Sharpton said in his eulogy. "Finally. End. Finally!"

The team roared up, and once again have the opportunity to celebrate the actions Wonder and Aguilera, who filled the house with his voice.

"Of all the singers I have heard can do justice to my soul and told me," Aguilera said before his performance.

With the service, the image of James as a woman who has overcome obstacles in achieving their dreams again and again.

"This is special for me and for me, because it represents life, successes and difficulties of a few Black women around the world," said U.S. Representative Maxine Waters, Democrat of California.

"It does not matter who sang" At Last "by Etta or sing, no matter where and when she sang" At Last "Etta was described by the difficult diva -.. This is your signature and will always be remembered."

James has won four Grammy Awards, including a great honor for his career and was introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. In his long career, he was respected for his passionate voice, singing soul.

He won his first success when he was still a teenager, with a suggestive "Roll With Me Henry," which is to be changed to "Flower Wall" for the antenna. His 1967 album, "Tell Mama", has become one of the best albums of the soul all the time, which is a blend of rock and gospel music.

She recovered from heroin addiction, see his career grow after the national anthem in 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. She won her first Grammy Award, ten years later, and two in 2003 and 2004.

James leaves her husband 42 years, Artis Mills and his two sons, James and Sametto DONTO.

"Mom, I love you," said James with brief comments DONTO. "When I came to hand, it might be for me?"
