Ice-T on directing: The cutting is the hardest part


Ice-T is to find the director of traps: Sometimes you have to cut friends. And it hurts.

Star of law and order presented her debut as a documentary filmmaker, something out of nothing: The Art of Rap, the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday.

While he is proud of this film that explores the power of rap music does not come without pain - especially in the editing process.

"We shot 55 rappers and it was impossible that all of the movie" Ice-T says. "So it's certainly difficult to cut the end. I have learned that the hard way."

Currently, video interviews with artists such as Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, QTIP common, and Ice Cube - just to name a few.

Ice-T was the director of music videos before, but decided to direct this document, because the subject is very personal to him and "it was my idea from the beginning," he says.

"When you're an actor, speaking words of another person," says Ice-T. "When I shoot the scene, in law and order has no control. We are like puppets. It's nice to be able to control the scene."

It has also come from new forms of expression of a few principal terms of colors, none of which are not suitable for a family publication. Are expected to incoporate in his dream project - a film which leads and supports the soundtrack.

"This is a complete and total package," Ice-T says.
