Sundance and Slamdance festivals hear sound of music


Documentary trumpeted Paul Simon Under African Skies is just one of the music offerings in the Sundance Film Festival 2012, along with the Slamdance Festival.

In the documentary section at Sundance, Sugar Man Seeking rocker looks dark, but iconic Rodriguez, who mysteriously disappeared after the critical success (but not much commercial success) in the 1970's. The buzz around this movie is incredible.

Shut up and play the Hits follows that of LCD Soundsystem and played his last concert in 2011. Ice-T took his debut as director of the documentary Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap, which examines the impact of hip-hop. He followed the premiere of the film with a live performance of the weekend.

Off the beaten track, The Dream Team next Other Lithuanian basketball team, whose bronze medal trip to the 1992 Olympic Games was funded by the Grateful Dead (the team not wearing tie-dye shirts on the pitch).

The Slamdance Film Festival, which runs in Park City for Sundance attendees, hosted the Tours doc Jonathan Demme, Neil Young, Canadian artist shows performed at the Massey Hall Toronto. During a coffee-talk with the fans Slamdance this week, Young announced that he would be recording new music with Crazy Horse for a long time collaborator. Great news for fans of Young.

Slamdance also has I want my name back. It follows the original Sugarhill Gang in their fight to regain his name and place in the history of hip-hop 30 years after pioneering rapper pleasure.

The holidays are also live performances. Common stars in the Sundance Film Festival Luv, held at the Express after the party on Monday night. Bing Bar has presented a series of live performances, including Jason Mraz and rapper Drake, who braved a snowstorm to perform Sundance at the scene of a crowded theater - three hours late.
