As reported yesterday, the second album from Adele "21" means the number of new steps on the list of Billboard 200 First of all, "21" registered its best weeks of sales (730 000, according to Nielsen SoundScan), after its six wins at the 54th Grammy Awards Feb. 12.
Set also registers the 21st week at No. 1 for research, moving it past the soundtrack to Whitney Houston "The Bodyguard" (1992-93) on the longest command for an album by a woman in Figure 56-year history.
Add Adele is in action on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart this week, however, and there is still more story to add to her rapidly building a legend.
Adele were three Hot 100 No. 1s scored on the Hot 100 in the top 10 "set fire to the Rain" held at No. 2, "Rolling In the Deep" album and song of the year, which Adele performed on the Grammys, the fees back 17-5 (at week 59 chart), and "Someone Like You" leaps 11-7.
With these advances, Adele is the first woman in the Hot 100 in the archives of 53-year put three songs in the top 10 at the same time as a leading artist.
Previously, only four other acts - two men and two male groups - maps, three (or more) songs in the top 10 simultaneously acts as a lead: Chris Brown (2008), Usher (2004), Bee Gees (1978) and The Beatles, who praised a record five titles in the top 10 the week of April 4 and 11, 1964, including all five of the first of the two frames.
Looking further, this week's charts Adele two songs in the Hot 100's five top - "Fire" (No. 2) and "Deep" (No. 5) - and two albums in the Billboard 200 in the top five: "21" (No. 1) and her debut set "19", which reaches a new peak (No. 4) The 122nd weekly chart.
