Most of the 185 participants were sent home Wednesday evening on the section, while the few survivors went to Las Vegas.
After last week's song of the free edition of "American Idol", it was all singing in paragraph 15 February) episode on Wednesday, which ran through the most important events in Hollywood Week, Night and Day Group Solo.
The two-hour episode began with 185 players split into 42 groups; hours later, only 98 players remained. And at the end of the episode, the field has been narrowed by another quarter, and the other riders were on the bus to Las Vegas.
The cuts came fast and furious, and among the dismissed during the Night of the Group include "Tent Girl" Amy Brumfield, who seemed to infect everyone with whom they came into contact with a disease; Symone Black, a dramatic decline from the scene before Hollywood Week, provided "Idol" with built-in Cliffhanger at last week's episode, a police officer Alisha Bernhardt, that is difficult to find a group to sing during the Night of the group and eventually ended up in a group where everyone was released, and 17-years-old Imani Handy, who fell three times during the night Group. (This must be some "Idol" record.)
By Day Solo, almost every remaining participant seemed to have Georgia on his mind, as the Ray Charles classic was sung again and again. Standout interpretations come from Jen Hirsh, 25, of Agoura Hills, CA, Reed Grimm, 26, Ellsworth, Wisconsin, who sang a song while playing the drums, and a 27-year-old Adam Brock, self-described "white chocolate" singer from Washington, DC Pennsylvania, who deftly wrapped his big pipe around the timeless anthem.
Some of the other players the best presented during the solo round, where the singers were backed by "Idol" team, were Joshua Ledet, who won a standing ovation from the judges for his powerful version of Christina Perri's "Jar of Hearts", a 28-year-old Creighton Fraker from Queens, who earned a standing O's intensely soulful version of "What a Wonderful World", which stands near the top candidate on the list of the best "Idol" performances this year.
Other notables included Shannon Magra, 16-year-old, whose version of "What a Wonderful World" due to Jennifer Lopez blurt out "What the hell was that!" and Skylar Laine, 17-year-old Brandon, Mississippi, which take the Perry Band "You Lie" was J. Lo comparison to Reba McEntire.
So far the season is still a standout personality Heejun Han, wry 22-year-old from Flushing, New York, which start a feud with Richie Act, would-be Scotty McCreery of Centennial, Colorado, presented some of the best season of laughs. Are these two finally have her with him in Las Vegas? We'll find out soon.
