Grammy's song of the year category changes its tune

Several Grammy categories are more complex than the song of the year. Which is not to be confused with the record of the year.
What is the difference? Song of the year traditionally rewarded with an ingenious marriage of music and text that can stand the test of time. Think of the 1971 winner, Carole King, you have a friend or Julie Gold 1990 triumph from afar-songs whose emotional punch are not affected by the mojo of the original contractor.
But recently, the best song Grammy for large pieces have a lasting relationship with the artist singing it, such as pick in 2007, and Rehab Amy Winehouse.
"This award has lost its way a little, confusing traditional songwriters creators of the popular hit," says Paul Zollo, editor of U.S. magazine singer. "It was frustrating for many writers, but the company is moving towards the production numbers."
Richard Marx, who won the 2003 award with Luther Vandross for Dance With My Father, says that "it is not sure what the prize is no longer, nor am I sure what the criteria are. If (Bruno Mars) wins Grenade, are all six writers going on stage? Does it really take six guys to write this song? "
But Terius "-Dream" Nash, who collected the award for 2009 in four, hit writer, individually Ladies (Put a ring on it), thinks the Grammy are right to celebrate a new breed of songwriter steeped in the co-operation and performance. "It is about creating the sound of when you hear it," he says.
