Album of the week: 'Halcyon'

If you love the relatively mainstream Goulding Lights debut in 2010, get ready. At Halcyon (*** out of four), through its role as a co-producer, 25-year-old Brit presents an edgier, more aggressive showcase its swooping, stratosphere-piercing vibrato.

Whisper to determine bombast, echo-y sound effects and ghostly backing vocals on these stories of despair and joy elusive cuff you about the ears and can not be ignored.

Goulding has an impressive base - she sings for Will and Kate's wedding, and the White House and the Coachella - and built its own school division Flo Welch overtly dramatic vocalizing. Her tone, balanced between girly and feminine, is attractive because it is the clear intention to be an artist. Someone wants but she frolic in the heather now and then for contrast.
