Mumford and Sons did not crash in the U.S. 2012 album sales record with "Babel", selling almost twice as much Justin Bieber "Believe".
Team London sold 600,000 of their second album, "Babel" a week, trumping "Believe" first sale week by 226,000, reports Billboard.
LP, which is the first U.S. Number One team, became the second largest selling digital album in history, behind Lady Gaga's "Born This Way", with up to 420,000 downloads this week.
Meanwhile, "the debut album" Mumford and Sons Sigh No More "continues to rack up big sales in the U.S., and has not left the Top 75 on the Billboard chart entry in July 2010. Far a record 2.5million copies sold in the U.S..
The American team success is the result of last week's triumphant home soil as "Babel" was the band's first UK number one, racking up an impressive tally of sales 159,000 copies to become the fastest-selling British album of 2012.
Speaking to NME, on release of the album in the UK, multi-instrumentalist Ted Dwane said: "Number Two was the best we got with" Sigh No More ", so it would be amazing of course no one would wish in front of the number one. Record, but I know that Green Day have album out and they are pretty big hitter. If you told me in the 90s, I'll be in a battle with Green Day's chart, you probably would have just laughed at you. "
Mumford And Sons also just announced a second night at the 02 Arena in London in December. Team mammoth UK and Ireland tour, which will see them play some of their biggest headline shows to date sold out, but at another time in London was added to 18 December.
