Black Keys' Dan Auerbach on Rockin' With Neil Young, Dave Grohl

For fans of all-star finales at rock concerts, that would be very difficult at first a 10-minute version of "Rockin 'In The Free World" with Neil Young, the Black Keys and Foo Fighters. In an interview this week, Keys frontman Dan Auerbach told Billboard star jam Global Citizens Festival ended last Saturday in downtown New York Park came to be.

"Neil Young came to our dressing room and said, 'Why do not you go out and play" Rockin in the Free World "with us. Think it would be good for people," Auerbach said, adding that when youth requests something you, no matter what it is - the answer is always "Yes".

Immediately after setting the black keys, "Auerbach threw backstage for last minute preparation." I got on the Internet and looked up the tabs to find the song, "he recalled." Then I did a quick practice session " .

Auerbach said Young play is definitely on the top of the highlights of his career. "What an honor!" said. The singer / guitarist admitted being a little too enthusiastic on stage, however.

"I tried to rip your face with my playing the guitar. I think I did very well, but then one of my friends told me he did not even have my guitar coming out of the speakers in the front," he joked, noting that the young man was so engrossed in the jam that legendary rocker stepped on his foot in mid-solo. "We were really going for it and make this thing nerd twin guitar solo, jumping around, and he stepped on the right foot. Maybe it was an accident or if he did it on purpose or not [laughs]. I just went with it Neil Young's, though. he is not as heavy. "

Earlier in the festival, Dave Grohl discouraged the crowd of 60,000 when he mentioned that there would be more Foo Fighters dating for quite some time.

"He seemed excited that he has toured for a while," Auerbach said, noting that he had the impression that the Foo Fighters star wanted to take a break to pursue other activities. "He has a lot of projects we are working on. Those guys have been working so long, I think taking a year or two off is normal for them."

For the rest of 2012, The Black Keys Auerbach says plans to end the year on tour. "We went to Arizona and go to Austin, Mexico City, Australia, New Zealand, and back to Western Europe for a while," he said.
